Hi, I’m Nicky

I am grateful to run my online business in the Personal Development space that that allows me to work at home or away and connect with others on a global level.

Life has been an adventure of living in many diverse places and exploring the world.

Being a New Zealander who grew up in Australia, I have family spread out across both countries. Having lived in USA, I also have strong connections there.

Settling to a farming life in New Zealand’s South Island has allowed me to create my best life. I spend time with my horses, grow food, create, travel and continue this amazing journey that is life.

THE PROBLEM THAT LED ME HERE:

I created a successful career for over twenty years in the Education sector, teaching Pre-schoolers to Adults and absolutely enjoyed it. At some point, it became clear that the systems I worked in were incongruent with my beliefs and values.

I trained and became a hoof trimmer for some years. Helping horses and their owners was very satisfying. However, the work is physically demanding and I saw a shelf-life looming.

During this time, I also ventured into equine assisted learning and with a team of horses worked to help people live more effective and productive lives. While I loved this valuable work that totally aligned with my values, and this was my dream business, it became a tie to one place.

So it seemed that work for me required commuting long distances and/or being fixed to specific locations.

TAKING STOCK OF MY MULTI-CAREER LIFE:

I returned to teaching and that became intolerable. Long daily commutes and systems that I was at odds with soon had me looking for an alternative.

While I was looking for meaningful work, I was also seeking flexibility of location and scheduling - that I was in charge of.

THE HORSE THAT LED ME TO SUCCESS:

With these experiences, it was clear that my own business was what I sought.

And that is what I have found. I am proud to be part of an organisation with award winning Personal Development programs.

I am living my goal of doing meaningful work and connecting on a global level with other entrepreneurs who are supportive growth minded mentors and role models.

Horses are an integral part of my life and really began my journey of personal development. To be better for my horses led me to be better for myself and those around me.

Much of my early life was spent around horses.

When I acquired my first horse later in life, I began having difficulty and looked for a better way to relate and work with her. This led me to learning about how and why of horse behaviour and thinking. Doing things differently with Charm and working on the understanding and relationship had me in harmony with her and other horses I worked with. I began the journey of personal development and living a more effective life!

As a teacher of early years children at that time, I also saw patterns of behaviour that they show up to school with. So, I became interested in how to develop relationships with children and families to gain the best possible experience of school and beyond.

And so the ripple effect of that beautiful horse continues to extend to many lives that I have come into contact with.
