Hi, I’m Nicky

Life has been an journey of adventures, living in diverse environments and exploring the world. After growing up and then raising my family in Australia and New Zealand, I lived for a few years in Oregon before returning to my home country of New Zealand.

Now living a farm life in the South Island allows me to live my best life. When work is done, my partner and I spend time in the mountains motor bike riding and walking, or you’ll find me out with my horses, growing food, creating, and continuing this journey that is life.

Self awareness and growth keeps life fresh and rewarding, so having this online business with Personal and Leadership Development at the core is a perfect match for me.

THE PROBLEM THAT BROUGHT ME HERE And TAKING STOCK OF MY MULTI-CAREER LIFE:

I did not carve out a straightforward career in one industry, but worked in many sectors. From outback cattle stations in Australia to fine dining restaurants, equine- assisted-learning and horse hoof-trimming, to a bachelor degree and long career in Education, I did it all!

Although my career in various Education sectors took me to places I couldn’t have imagined, I realised that my values did not align with expectations placed on me.

Taking on an education tuition franchise gave me a taste of business ownership that I really enjoyed. While I created some success and certainly made a difference there, the restrictive requirements and cost had me questioning whether it was right for me and concluding that it was not.

I had created success in business as a barefoot hoof trimmer and Equine assisted Learning facilitator through which I could follow my passion for working with horses and in an education field. Both of these are location fixed or require long commuting hours.

Then relocation back to New Zealand and divorce changed my situation considerably.

While I was looking for meaningful work, I was also seeking flexibility of location and scheduling - that I was in charge of.

HOW MY JOURNEY TO GROWTH AND EFFECTIVE LIVING BEGAN:

THE BUSINESS THAT MADE SENSE FOR ME:

With these experiences, it was clear that my own business was what I sought. However, I was not going to settle for a business that had me fixed to a single location.

So, when I found a small advert on social media about an online business, I requested information, the information made sense to me, and here I am today. Setting my schedule to suit my lifestyle, I am creating the life I dreamed of.

I am proud to represent an organisation with award winning Personal Development programs and to mentor and coach others in their journey of professional and personal growth.

I am living my goal of doing meaningful work and connecting on a global level with other entrepreneurs who are growth minded mentors and role models.

Horses are an integral part of my life and really began my journey of personal development. To be better for my horses led me to be better for myself and those around me.

Life and career have not always been a linear progression for me to navigate. There have been cycles, turns and course corrections.

Much of my early life was spent around horses. When I acquired my first horse later in life, it became apparent that I needed to make a change in how I worked with her, so I looked for a better way to build our relationship for both our benefit. This led me to learning about how and why of horse behaviour and thinking. At the time, I did not realise the impact this would have on every aspect of my life.

The awareness I developed of us both, and particularly how my thoughts and actions affected all that we did, brought harmony and more alignment with my authentic self. I began the journey of personal development and living a more effective life!

I began reading authors such as Brene Brown, Dr Stephanie Burns, Paul Coehlo, Andy Andrews. What I drew from these authors is - it’s my thoughts that become my life, so I needed to change those negative chatterings to create my best future. So, with courage I decided to change, created a vision and went forward.

And so, the ripple effect of that beautiful horse continues to extend to many lives that I have come into contact with.
